Art Walk, September 19-20

Art Walk is an opportunity for the general public to visit Calgary galleries and artist studios to discover the quality and variety of artists' work available in Calgary, and realize they do not have to travel abroad to find some wonderful treasures.

Come join us at Art Central on Saturday September 19th and Sunday September 20th for exhibitions, workshops and much more! Admission is free. All ages welcome!

What's going on at Art Central:

Swirl Fine Art & Design:
Encaustic Demonstrations: There is a resurgence of encaustic painting everywhere. Come see gallery owner, Tracy Proctor, demonstrate the medium that everyone is talking about. Encaustic demonstrations will be held at 11 am and 2 pm on Saturday September 19th.

UPPERCASE Gallery, Books & Papergoods:
Button Making Workshop: Drop-in button making workshop from noon - 4 pm on Sunday, September 20th!  Try your hand at making your own unique buttons.

POST Exhibit:
Artist demonstration by Nikki Gour: Saturday, September 19th from 11 am - 5 pm and Sunday, September 20th from noon - 5 pm.

INFLUX Jewellery Gallery:
INFLUX presents Gloss: Solo exhibition by Devon Clark. Inspired by the Art Deco period, designs are realized using precious stones and metals. Enamel is layered in colour & texture to create a tangle of patterns over silhouetted metal surfaces. The results are a luscious and glossy series of personal decoration and ornament.

Calgary Clay Arts Association:
Calgary Clay Arts Association presents Goodness, Gracious, Great Bowls of Fire: Join us for ceramic work by Connie Cooper, Krista Gowland, Carolyn Howard, Ashley Morrow, Connie Pike, Connie Ptasinski, Monika Smith, Joey Stewart Kingwell, Susan Thorpe and Kathy Werenka. Upper level Art Central, Saturday, September 19th from 11 am - 5 pm.
