Links: A Collective Knowledge: Work by ACAD Jewellery + Metal Senior Students, speaks to collaborative action, a sense of community, teamwork and mutual respect. It is about emerging artists and makers who span a wide range of practice, art jewelers, craft jewelers, designers, photographers, wearable art makers, fashion designers: from conceptual to trade work. They value excellence, group action, hard work, and a thoroughly creative practice.
The group speaks of being a definite community. Their association was forged in the Jewellery + Metals program at Alberta College of Art + Design, through time spent with each other, shared work, and most especially shared, close space. These circumstances ensured finding ways to work together, to accept and celebrate the other. They support each other in numerous ways, give critique, push one another to work hard.
ACAD is a leading centre for education and research, and a catalyst for creative inquiry and cultural development. We engage the world and create possibilities.
For the month of April the exhibition will be on the lower level of Art Central with the photo exhibit in OneBlueWall.
