Interiors in Balance: Feature of the month Phum Kao Bin-Royal Design
This trellis pattern, with rice motif dates back to the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910). Originally reserved for the royalty, was used in the palace, rice being primary crop of Thailand. This design has become a symbol for the Thai people. A high degree of craftmanship is required to produce this pattern showing fluidity and delicacy. It can be considered the base pattern of Benjarong. A must-have for any collector of Benjarong!
