st[art] @ Art Central

As a result of a growing need, the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation has initiated st[art] @ Art Central, a new artist residency program that provides much needed studio and exhibition space for emerging and established artists experiencing the challenges faced by many in Calgary’s booming economy.

Artists may apply to access the st[art] @ Art Central space for a one or two month period and receive a stipend for the duration of the residency.

Open hours vary depending on the resident artist and the nature of their activities in the space.

The urgent need for space amongst Calgary’s arts community is currently recognized as one of the top priorities for many organizations and individuals associated with the cultural sector in this city. With the inception of the st[art] @ Art Central program the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation has taken the first step in addressing the immediate situation with a view to establishing permanent, long term access to studio and exhibition space for Calgary’s visual arts community.

The Calgary Allied Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization that encourages the development of art and culture in the Calgary District and assists with the acquisitions of works of art for the City of Calgary.
