Swirl Fine Art & Design

Website: http://www.swirlfineart.com

Swirl Fine Art and Design carries an eclectic mix original paintings and sculpture.  The gallery represents eight regional and local artists with one common thread - their passion for art illuminates through in their work. “I represent artists that I truly love.”

Tracy Proctor: Drawing inspiration from nature and the mountainous region where I live, I taught myself how to paint mainly through trial, error and experimentation.  Once an engaging composition of texture is emerges; I focus on the drama of light by applying layers of dynamic color.  Ten years of experience in the Interior Design industry influenced my love for color and composition and my formal education in business enhanced my ability to market myself and my artists.

Lindsey Love: Lindsey Love grew up as the quiet first born of a farming family in Bassano, Alberta. The young artist reveals a fresh style that impacts viewers by its attachment to evoke the ambiguous emotional state that real experiences conjure. There is an air of serenity about her work – an added depth and quiet sense of alienation.  The viewer almost becomes a part of the painting.

Rachelle Kearl: Rachelle Kearl is a self taught artist born and raised in Calgary.  She keeps herself busy raising four children, but always makes a bit of time to paint. Hidden treasures lie deep within the simpler things in life; I enjoy using my own interpretation to capture these “treasures” onto canvas. Basing a painting on simplicity then allowing it to grow into something more is my play land.

Mark Yan: Mark Yan graduated from Hong Kong Fine Art College in 1973 and traveled throughout the world before settling in Vancouver in 1990. He is most know for his ability to capture the vibrancies of life in an urban culture. His works are displayed in galleries throughout the Western Canada.

Gina Yung Tin Tin:Yung holds a B.F.A and M.A in Fine Art. Before
settling in Vancouver she was art director in Taiwan, and has spent many
years traveling the world. Her philosophy "life is just like flames"
describes her adventurous, and creative personality.

Jeffrey Jinyu: Jeffrey Jinyu was born in Beijing and is currently living in Vancouver B.C. His work reflects an international blend of Japanese teachings and Canadian scenery. Jeffrey received a Bachelor's Degree in Oil Painting from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and a Masters of Fine Arts from the Musashino Art University of Tokyo Japan.

Knicki Markolf: I believe that the stones are our oldest story keepers. She
lets the stone aid her in unraveling its mystery, teaching her its story,
bringing that mystery forward.

Kenneth Perry:
Stones carry the magic of life. Stones describe and shape the
human evolution through sculpture. Change, the action of sculpture on stone
is carried in the language of the stone. The outcome of the sculpture is how
one understands the language.

Sanja Lukac: “A photograph has the power to change the world, in the way that we perceive our surroundings and observe our societies.” Sanja's passion for photography originated from her love of painting and creative nature. Sanja always searched for visuals to inspire her fine arts and eventually the desire to capture her surroundings became her ultimate passion.

Anne Watson: “Enthralled by the innate beauty of the natural world, I see patterns, compositions and exquisiteness everywhere I look.  Everything is a potentially divine moment to be captured and reinterpreted on canvas. I draw inspiration from many places that I’ve visited around the world, but lately it is the diverse character and subtle color pallets of Alberta that is particularly captivating to me, as I feel a deep connection to this land.

Linda Wilder: "Art is a way of life and I create 24 hours a day…maybe not holding a brush, but by seeing, thinking and feeling." Linda Wilder studied Art at Red Deer College and then The University of Calgary. Although life’s paths and endeavors took her in many directions, her passion for art was never lost.
